- Over 25 Years Experience Working In The Nonprofit Sector
- Experience — From The Front Lines To Executive Leadership
- Over A Decade Of Nonprofit Executive Leadership
- Founder, NonprofitNext
Larry has spent over 25 years building, leading, and transforming nonprofits from the inside. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, he came to this work with both formal training and a genuine commitment to the sector that has only deepened over time. As founder of NonprofitNext, he brings the perspective of someone who has lived the challenges nonprofit leaders face — managing shoestring budgets, scaling operations during crisis, navigating complex compliance requirements, and securing new funding. His career spans direct service, program management, and over a decade of executive leadership, complemented by board service at the local, state, and national levels that has given him a clear understanding of how governance, strategy, and operations intersect.
Larry has delivered training for national organizations across the sector and is an alumnus of the AI Consultancy Project through Innovating with AI, a rigorous program designed to develop practical AI consulting skills and engineer real results for clients. He brings the same practical, people-centered approach to workshops and presentations that shapes everything NonprofitNext does. His People-First AI philosophy grows directly from what he learned leading nonprofit teams: staff are an organization’s most valuable asset, and they deserve tools that free them to focus on the work that actually matters.
Larry understands tight budgets, overworked staff, and the pressure to demonstrate ROI to funders. He bridges operational excellence with staff well-being, helping nonprofits work smarter without working harder. His solutions free up capacity, reduce burnout, and let organizations do what they do best: their mission.
Principal Operations Strategist
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master of Jurisprudence — Labor & Employment Law
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- $40M Nonprofit Budget Stewardship
For nonprofit executives, the mission is the driving force. However, the machinery behind it — finance, compliance, and operations — are often where the greatest friction lies. Laura joins NonprofitNext to eliminate that friction, serving as the bridge between visionary goals and the fiscal reality required to achieve them. With a career anchored in high-level financial stewardship, Human Resources, and law, she offers the kind of technical assurance that allows leaders to sleep better at night, knowing their organization is built on a foundation of integrity and efficiency. Laura’s expertise is uniquely suited for organizations navigating complex regulatory environments or preparing for scale. As a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Jurisprudence in Labor & Employment Law, she possesses a rare dual competency in both the numbers and the legal frameworks that govern them. Whether she is guiding a team through audit readiness, untangling multi-state payroll liabilities, or optimizing tax compliance, Laura provides the rigorous oversight necessary to ensure that resources are protected and directed toward the mission, rather than lost to inefficiency. Her approach blends the empathy of the human services sector with the efficiency of the corporate world. Laura has managed nationwide payroll operations for thousands of employees and stewarded the financials for a complex nonprofit organization with a $40 million annual budget. Holding a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, she views operations through a lens of continuous improvement, helping nonprofits streamline their internal systems to do more with less. She understands the unique pressure points of the sector — from grant reporting to donor stewardship — and translates that knowledge into actionable operational strategies. At NonprofitNext, Laura acts as a partner in organizational health, ensuring that innovation is supported by infrastructure. She understands that adopting new technologies like AI requires a stable operational backbone. From strategic planning and risk management to talent development and HCM platform implementation, she empowers leadership teams to build resilient systems. Laura ensures that while you focus on changing the world, your organization remains grounded in financial stability and operational excellence.
