Principal Innovation Strategist
- Over 25 Years Experience Working In The Nonprofit Sector
- Experience: From the Front Lines to Executive Leadership
- Over A Decade Of Nonprofit Executive Leadership
- Co-Founder, NonprofitNext
Larry has spent over 25 years building, leading, and transforming nonprofits from the inside. As a co-founder of NonprofitNext, he brings the perspective of someone who has lived the challenges nonprofit leaders face: managing shoestring budgets, scaling operations during crisis, meeting compliance requirements, and securing new funding. His career spans direct service, program management, and over a decade of executive leadership, complemented by board service at the local, state, and national levels.
A certified AI consultant through Innovating with AI‘s rigorous AI Consultancy Program, Larry combines deep sector knowledge with practical, hands-on AI expertise. His People-First AI philosophy grows directly from leading nonprofit teams: staff are an organization’s most valuable asset, and they deserve tools that free them to focus on the work that actually matters.
Larry understands tight budgets, overworked staff, and the pressure to demonstrate ROI to funders. He helps nonprofits work smarter without working harder by freeing up capacity, reducing burnout, and letting organizations focus on what they do best: their mission. See examples of his work.
Principal Operations Strategist
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master of Jurisprudence: Labor & Employment Law
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- $40M Nonprofit Budget Stewardship
For nonprofit executives, the mission is the driving force. The friction usually lives in the operations behind it: finance, compliance, and HR. Laura joined NonprofitNext to remove that friction, serving as the bridge between an organization’s goals and the fiscal reality required to reach them. With a career anchored in financial stewardship, human resources, and law, she gives leaders confidence that their organization stands on a foundation of integrity and sound process.
Laura is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law, a rare dual competency in the numbers and the legal frameworks that govern them. She has guided teams through audit readiness, untangled multi-state payroll liabilities, and kept organizations tax compliant, so resources stay directed toward the mission instead of being lost to inefficiency.
Her approach blends the empathy of the human services sector with the discipline of the corporate world. Laura has managed nationwide payroll operations for thousands of employees and stewarded the financials for a complex nonprofit organization with a $40 million annual budget. She holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and views operations through a lens of continuous improvement, helping nonprofits do more with less. She understands the pressure points of the sector, from grant reporting to donor stewardship, and turns that knowledge into practical operational strategy.
At NonprofitNext, Laura is a partner in organizational health, making sure innovation is supported by infrastructure. Adopting new technologies like AI requires a stable operational backbone. From strategic planning and risk management to talent development and HCM platform implementation, she helps leadership teams build resilient systems, so that while you focus on changing the world, your organization stays grounded in financial stability and operational excellence.
